Loose lay
Loose lay flooring is a type of vinyl that is a combination of vinyl and a durable material called phthalate-free plasticizers. The plasticizers make the material more flexible, and in turn easier to install. Phthalate can be harmful to people’s health as they are a combination of many strong chemicals used to make plastics more durable. Phthalate-free plasticizers greatly reduce health risks caused to those using it, as well as make the vinyl weightier and more durable.
Loose Lay make for and easy installation process as simple for anyone with any experience level as it only requires adhesive on the permitter pieces! The remaining pieces of the loose lay simply connect to the previously set perimeter pieces.
1.8-3mm Glue down
JÄGER Vinyl plank made for Canadian floors
- Jager luxury vinyl should be stored in a cool-temperature area (for example an unheated garage or basement).
- Jager Vinyl plank will shrink in cool temperatures and expand in warmer temperatures. When installing be sure the product is cool to reduce shrinking and gaps between pieces.
- Most important part of any installation job is the prep work. The smoother the flooring surface the vinyl will be installed on, the better the performance. This point cannot be stressed enough!
- If planks begin to peak from growth, we recommend using a drop of high- quality glue such as crazy glue to hold down any stubborn pieces. Adjusting the temperature of the usage area can also help pieces of plank that are being tricky.
- Subfloor is always recommended for the best results in flooring. It provides a smooth and level foundation for the plank to stick down to. We recommend using a 3/8 Enstron subfloor in 4x8 sheets using ¼ crown staples (staple every inch or less on joints and every 4 inches in the field). Do not use glue for the subfloor. When installed correctly, the subfloor will hold its 15-year warranty.
- JÄGER flooring is best installed with Henry 695 pressure sensitive glue for a full or perimeter spread. Recommended trowel is a CS-9#25 1/16x1/16x1/16 trowel.
- For glue if needed, let dry till tacky (dry to the touch) before install. Apply pressure and roll with a 100lbs roller for full adhesion. Rollers are not needed for loose lay perimeter glue.
